Tidal Vagant

A  series Showcasing the peculiar, surreal rock formations of North Devon coast using ecologically developed film photography. Presented on silver gelatine prints, made in the darkroom with the brine of the pools.

In a drought of inspiration and mental wellbeing, George finds comfort and solitude wandering wave cut platforms; otherworldly places only revealed at low tide. Studying the texture and form, with the imminent risk of the encroaching tide, composing while balancing.  A meditative practice away from the daily depressions.

Tidal Vagant was made for the Unstable Ground exhibition at Studio KIND Braunton in August 2022
